WD-40 spray is synonym to peoples who wants to lubricates moving parts & loosen rusty parts. Is it the correct tools? It is not wrong to use WD-40, it just really great product.
BUT with extra knowledge you will using proper & correct tools:
WD-40 is more liquid
Proper application:
HIT HT-55 Spray Grease (sticky)
Proper application:
So, use WD-40 (or similar) to loosen the rusty parts & use the HT-55 (or similar) for lubricate moving parts. The HT-55 is same like other grease but it is really easy to apply as it using spray method.
